The report, citing unnamed sources, said that Brightstar is behind the deal, not rival Brightpoint.
BlackBerry and Brightstar declined to comment. BlackBerry CEO Thortsen Heins explained that the company is bound by a confidentiality agreement not to name the purchaser.
Know one knows what the plan is with with the million phones but Brightstar is described as:
"With global reach, and local insights, Brightstar helps the worlds leading manufacturers, retailers and operators serve their customers better. The company provides: value-added distribution, supply chain solutions, handset protection and insurance, buy-back and trade-in solutions, multi-channel retail solutions, and financial services. Founded in Miami, Florida, in 1997, Brightstar is ranked #58 on the Forbes List of Americas Largest Private Companies."
